Hello, welcome to the July 2022 eToro Portfolio Update.
My name is Vincenzo Stefanini and my eToro username is vincenzost.

In July my portfolio has gone down slightly and closed at -0.82%.
So far, this year my portfolio is still negative, but this is normal. As you can see from the past, some months are positive and others are negative. I’m confident that we can still close this year in profit, so please be patient and keep the copy open for the long term.
Remember that in the last 2 years I have made huge gains, so if you invest in the long term, you have more chances to make a profit.

In July stocks and cryptos started to recover.
This happened because most investors think that inflation has peaked and central banks will reduce the interest rate increases. They also think that we have reached the bottom.
However, I don’t think this is true. In fact, I think that this is just a bear market rally and we might see lower prices in the future.
I prefer to remain defensive right now and keep the portfolio risk low.

I have in my portfolio also some short positions open.
This is reducing the profit now, but it will be more effective when the market will drop again.
I took profit on some positions last month.
I am not planning to open new positions this month.
Despite this, I still have plenty of cash available in balance to use when there is an opportunity.

I am happy that the market is recovering and this might continue for a while.
However, I prefer to remain cautious and defensive.
The data about the economy are not so good, so this might be just a temporary spike in sentiment and price, but if the economic data remain bad and inflation will remain high, I am expecting more downside on the markets.
Of course, I could be wrong and things might improve, but I will wait for the confirmation before making any changes to the portfolio.
The volatility might decrease in August due to the holidays.
Also, the next FED meeting is in September.
Anyway, I am confident that we can still make a profit this year, even if there is a new drop in the market.
So, if you are already a copier, remain calm and keep the copy open.
Remember that this is an investment for the long term.
So even if in the short term my portfolio goes down, in the long term my portfolio has always made a profit.

I am an Elite Popular Investor on eToro, but I have been downgraded temporarily because of the drop in the assets under copy.
Currently, a bit less than 400 people are investing in my portfolio.
I am managing in total around $400,000.
Some investors have stopped the copy recently, but don’t make the same mistake.
They sold at the wrong time and they are going to miss the next profit opportunities.
The best thing to do is to keep the copy open and let the portfolio do the work for you.
If your copy is down a lot, consider adding more funds to the copy. In this way, you will reduce the average buying price and therefore make more profit once the market recovers. Remember that you are not really losing if you don’t sell and the market always recovered in the long term, so, if you don’t need the money immediately, it’s better to keep the copy open.
I managed to reduce my risk score down to 4, which is great.
Also, in the past 2 years, my portfolio has made 478% profit, in other words, almost 6 times the initial investment.

My goals for this year are:
– to keep the risk score to 5 or lower
– to adapt the portfolio to the current market conditions in order to reduce the drawdown and protect the capital
– to close this year in profit
